Description

For the better part of a century, asbestos was one of the most commonly used building material.  Because of the hazards associated with this material, it was banned from new applications in 1980. However, asbestos is still found in many of the buildings that we live and work in daily.  Would you recognize what it looks like, and know what regulations apply? This course will cover awareness of asbestos in the Province of New Brunswick.  It includes information on Class 1, 2, and 3 removals. This course consists of the following topics:

• Types of Asbestos
• Where Asbestos may be found in buildings
• How Asbestos can affect health
• Testing for Asbestos
• Regulations regarding Asbestos
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Methods of dealing with Asbestos
• Quiz
